Course description

This course on Legal Liability forms part of a program that leads to certification against Unit Standard  242668  (Demonstrate knowledge and application of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993 (OHSA) (as amended) and the responsibilities of management in terms of the Act ).

Competence is the ability to perform whole work roles, to the standards expected in employment, in a real working environment.

There are three levels of competence:

  • Foundational competence: an understanding of what you do and why
  • Practical competence: the ability to perform a set of tasks in an authentic context
  • Reflexive competence: the ability to adapt to changed circumstances appropriately and responsibly, and to explain the reason behind the action

 

 

PoE Workbook

The learner PoE/Workbook must be completed to the best of your ability.  You must be found competent on all the specific outcomes and programme requirements in order to obtain the certificate.

To qualify and receive credits towards your qualification, a registered Assessor will conduct an evaluation and assessment of your portfolio of evidence and competency.

This course on Legal Liability forms part of a program that leads to certification against Unit Standard  242668  (Demonstrate knowledge and application of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993 (OHSA) (as amended) and the responsibilities of management in terms of the Act ).  Completion of the training course alone is not sufficient evidence of your competence for us to award you a certificate and the credits attached to this programme.

You have to complete the course sections and lessons in order to progress – that is, you need to complete Lesson 1 to access Lesson 2, and so forth. For this demonstration you’ll see we are able to access lessons without completing prior sections and lessons.  This is for demonstration purposes only and will not be the case for you when you do this course.
